Band of the Hills: A community band for all ages
| We're celebrating 10 years!
Band of the Hills was formed in 1998 with a handful of dedicated musicians and Bob Dalrymple as the director. Their dream was to provide an opportunity for amateur musicians of all ages to perform in a dedicated ensemble and bring a quality community band to the area.
Today, Band of the Hills has 75+ members drawn from Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Leander and Lago Vista. We are a wind band made up of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Our concerts include wide variety of music, including big band jazz, movie themes, marches, orchestral transcriptions, Broadway show tunes and traditional band literature. While Austin has the title “Live Music Capital of the World”, Band of the Hills brings the joy of live music to Cedar Park. We entertain audiences every year at Santa’s Workshop in Heritage Oak Park, the Fourth of July celebration in Milburn park and the CP Public Library’s Bull’s-Eye Bash. We also perform a number of other free concerts at various locations.
Band of the Hills provides a fun, social environment for musicians to practice and perform their art. An all-volunteer organization, we gladly serve the Central Texas community by performing, educating and entertaining. |
